From this day, 53 airlines will fly to 169 destinations, including some new ones in Europe, as well as in the Middle East Asia, and Africa, the airport announced.
Which new routes will be added?
Edelweiss Air
From December 18th, SWISS’ sister airline will fly twice a week to Giza/Sphinx in Egypt.
And from the end of February, the leisure airline will also fly twice weekly via Muscat to the Omani coastal city of Salalah, returning to Zurich non-stop.
For the first time, Edelweiss will also fly to Tunis.
EasyJet
Bordeaux and Manchester will be added to the low-cost carrier’s route network from November.
This makes easyJet the second airline, after SWISS, with connections to these two European cities.
And these airlines will expand their route network:
Etihad
The flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates “is gradually expanding the existing daily connection between Zurich and Abu Dhabi to two flights per day by June 2025,” the airport said.
Cathay Pacific and Ethiopian airline
The former will fly daily to Hong Kong during the winter, while the latter “will also increase the frequency to Addis Ababa from the end of October 2024 and serve the route daily.”

Before you go…
If you leave from Zurich airport between October 29th and March 19th, keep in mind that not all check-ins will be open.
That’s because last year, some of the baggage conveyor belts in Check-in 1 were replaced.
According to the airport’s press release, “during this year’s winter flight schedule, the second part of the belts will be replaced. As a result, some check-in locations will be relocated during this renovation phase.”
Passengers of SWISS, Lufthansa, Aegean, Austrian Airlines, Edelweiss Air, Brussels Airlines and Croatia Airlines should go to Check-in 1 or 3, depending on the travel class: Check-in for Economy and Premium Economy passengers will only take place in Check-in 3 during the conversion period.
Check-in 1 will continue to handle First, HON, Senator, Star Gold, Business, and Frequent Travellers guests.
For Vueling and EasyJet passengers, temporary counters are available in Check-in 2.
